sandy hook elementary. in san francisco city sper organized a vigil. it was the corner of silver avenue and mission street. speakers talked about workers together to bring about peace and addressing the issue with people with w mental health needs. a previously scheduled gun buy-back program, hundreds of guns were bought by oakland and san francisco police. >> michelle who did not want to give her last name was more than 200 people willing to sell their guns to san francisco police many who waited in long line were brought here by the tragedy. mass murder of 20 children in connecticut. >> is that why you brought the gun? >> absolutely. i never thought about getting rid of them before. >> a vietnam vet and had he and his wife sobbed hearing the news. jan turning her gun in so it could never take a life. >> if this is something that might hurt somebody some day, i would feel terrible about that. >> the gun buy-back was funded by an anonymous donor. they in turn contacted the boys club here in san francisco. dr. joseph marshall turns show that community thinks something about gun violence.
